The date of January 4 being revealed would suggest that New Japan will only run the venue for one night after experiments of running it on back-to-back nights from 2020 until 2022 before reverting to one night this past year.
The Tokyo Dome opened in March 1988 with New Japan running the venue for the first time in April 1989. The first January 4 show occurred in 1992 and has been an annual event for the promotion with the show rebranded in 2007 to Wrestle Kingdom.
This past January’s show at the Tokyo Dome drew 26,085 and was headlined by Jay White vs. Kazuchika Okada and Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay.
