Bomaye Fight Club’s backer is Don King.

At MLW’s Never Say Never event, the financial backer of Bomaye Fight Club was revealed to be legendary promoter Don King. King told Bomaye Fight Club’s leader Alex Kane to bring him the World Heavyweight Championship.

In the main event of Never Say Never, Kane ended Alex Hammerstone’s 640-plus day reign as champion.

New York Post has a feature about Kane’s title win and the revelation of Don King’s involvement with MLW. Court Bauer told the outlet that the goal is for him to appear on-screen with Kane.

Bauer: That was the perfect connection. There was no other option on the table that we felt was so organic and would be such a great native of Don King promoting champions from Ali, to [Mike] Tyson to Kane and we’re like that’s the perfect landing if we can stick the landing.

The goal, of course, is to have him there [in person], but having his presence with pretapes with Alex [Kane], those kinds of things. We will always find a way to do it.

The newly crowned champion expressed that he was ecstatic when he found out he would have the opportunity to collaborate with King.

Kane: When Court told me it was Don King, I was ecstatic. Don King is a legend and a symbol of Black excellence. I wanted to tell the world, but I had to keep it quiet… Don is as legit as they come in the sports world to this day, to this day.
