The reported ‘banned moves’ list is addressed by Tony Khan.
Going into Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor and AEW Blood & Guts, Tony Khan hosted a media call and and he touched on the leaked ‘banned moves’ document that was first reported on by Fightful Select.
Khan said he won’t confirm everything in the document, but downplayed that it’s something new. He stated that it has informally existed before.
Prior to the media call, he joined The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz and said the list is not going to change the show. He added that it’s more so guidelines for the referees and good information for wrestlers to know.
Additional notes from the media call are listed below:
– Khan will confirm ‘in due time and soon’ about how to watch All In. People will be able to watch live at 1 PM EST and it’ll start in the evening U.K. time.
– There have been conversations with Warner Bros Discovery about expanding AEW’s pay-per-view calendar. Everyone involved thinks it’d be a revenue positive.
– Locking down an ROH World Championship match for Death Before Dishonor has been challenging. Cites Eddie Kingston being in the NJPW G1 Climax and Mark Briscoe being injured. Khan wanted a Kingston-Briscoe moment going into the pay-per-view. Mark kept his injuries on the down low, even from doctors.
– Khan says that along with Forbidden Door 2022, Death Before Dishonor has been the most challenging pay-per-view to put together.
– He further touched on the ‘banned moves’ list. He said it’s a case-by-case thing. If Kenny Omega asks to use one of those moves, it’s much different than a lesser-experienced talent who came up through AEW Dark asking to use it.
– Bryan Danielson has not been at shows or meetings. His injury is worse than they thought, but Khan has been in contact with him.
