NXT attracts second-largest audience of the year, Dark Side rises

NXT achieved its second-largest audience of the year featuring Dominik Mysterio winning the North American Championship.

The July 18 edition of the program averaged 746,000 viewers and 279,000 (0.21) in the 18-49 demographic, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.

It was the second largest audience of the year behind the June 20 edition that featured Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker.

For the week, NXT viewership was up by 11% while the 18-49 audience rose by 9%.

Adults 18-34 grew by 9% with males up by 37% while women dropped 28% from last week to 26,000.

Adults 35-49 were up by 9% with males doing the same average as last week and females increasing by 33%.

The show performed very well in Canada with 94,600 viewers and 46,000 in the 25-54 demographic as it ranked fourth among sports programs on Tuesday night. The replay at 11 p.m. ET averaged 36,300 viewers and 19,800 in the demo, which also finished in the top ten.

The first-run episode in Canada is the largest audience for NXT in the country for the data we have and was up from last week’s figures of 78,000 viewers and 36,000 in the demo.

Dark Side of the Ring’s episode covering Abdullah the Butcher averaged 178,000 viewers and 82,000 (0.06) in the 18-49 demographic – increases of 17% and 46% respectively from last week’s episode covering Adrian Adonis.

Female viewership in the key demo saw a big increase of 88% at 49,000 viewers this week.

Adults 18-34 grew from 8,000 last week to 30,000.

Of the seven episodes this season, this week’s edition had the fourth largest audience behind The Junkyard Dog (229,000), Doink the Clow (207,000), and The Grahams (197,000).
