Blood & Guts provides boost for AEW Dynamite

The third installment of AEW’s Blood & Guts match led to a boost in the show’s audience this week.

The July 19 episode from Boston averaged 953,000 viewers and 441,000 (0.34) in the 18-49 demographic, their highest marks in months, according to data from Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.

This week’s viewership for Dynamite was its largest since March 22 and up by 16% from last week.

In the 18-49 demographic, it was a 15% increase and the highest since February 22. The key saw a 31% increase among women and an 8% gain in males from the previous week.

Adults 18-34 averaged 170,000 viewers and represented a 9% increase, although males dropped by 10%. It was females in the demo that led to the increase going from 40,000 last week to 66,000.

Adults 35-49 were up by 18%.

Wrestlenomics reported the quarter-hour breakdown with the high point for viewership being a tie between 9:15-9:30 p.m. during Blood & Guts and the three-minute overrun from 10-10:03 p.m. ET with 980,000 viewers. The high point in the 18-49 demo was 8:45 – 9 p.m. ET with the ending of MJF & Adam Cole vs. Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia and the post-match segment involving the winners and FTR.

In Canada, Dynamite ranked fourth for the night among sports programs with 109,300 viewers and was second for the night in the 25-54 demo with 70,500 on TSN 2. Viewership fell 19% from last week while the demo increased by 3%. In the demo, Dynamite beat all sports programs except the Toronto Blue Jays vs. San Diego Padres.
