Vince McMahon subject of federal search warrant and grand jury subpoena, no charges filed

WWE’s full filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission reveals that Vince McMahon was the subject of a federal search warrant and grand jury subpoena in July.

The 10-Q filing to the SEC notes that no charges have resulted from these actions, which took place on July 17th.

WWE notes that, although an internal investigation was completed during the fourth quarter of 2022, “related government investigations remain ongoing.”

During this morning’s investor call, WWE CEO Nick Khan said that WWE will fully cooperate with any investigation but would not comment on any legal matter.

The filing also notes that McMahon went on medical leave on July 21st, 2023, after major spinal surgery and would remain on leave “until further notice” but would remain Executive Chairman of WWE.

PART II. OTHER INFORMATION Item 1. Legal Proceedings As previously disclosed on June 17, 2022, a Special Committee of the Board of Directors was formed on June 15, 2022 to investigate allegations of misconduct by Vince McMahon. As previously disclosed, the Special Committee investigation was completed during the fourth quarter of 2022. However, related government investigations remain ongoing. On July 17, 2023, federal law enforcement agents executed a search warrant and served a federal grand jury subpoena on Mr. McMahon. No charges have been brought in these investigations. The Company has received voluntary and compulsory legal demands for documents, including from federal law enforcement and regulatory agencies, concerning the investigation and related subject matters.
