For over 400 days, GUNTHER has been champion.
GUNTHER has been WWE Intercontinental Champion since June of 2022. As of this writing, he is now 8th all-time for the most days with the championship in one’s possession.
Next up on the bill for him is his title defense against Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam on August 5th. The talents of WWE are making the media rounds to promote the event and one of the outlets GUNTHER chatted with was MailOnline.
He explained to the platform that he thinks he’s good at being a champion in wrestling because he carries himself a certain way.
I’ve enjoyed it a lot (WWE Intercontinental Title reign) and I think it’s something I’m good at. It might sound weird but I think I’m good at being a champion in wrestling. Because I carry myself a certain way, I add to the legacy of the title and I add my own legacy in the same process of that. It’s a big responsibility and I take it very serious, but it’s also very rewarding as well.
On the lead up to McIntyre versus GUNTHER, Drew has not been consistently present at TVs because he’s filming a movie.
