The final stop before SummerSlam saw Friday Night SmackDown remain steady as the show provided the final push for the event.
The August 4 edition of SmackDown from Dayton averaged 2,248,000 viewers and 812,000 (0.62) in the 18-49 demographic. (Data: Brandon Thurston from Wrestlenomics).
The numbers represented minor differences from the prior week with a 3% decrease in viewership with the key demo rising by 1%.
Adults 18-34 grew by 6% to 307,000, which is the highest figure for that demo since July 7. In the demo, men fell 1% while women increased by 16% to 123,000.
Adults 35-49 fell 1% with a 6% increase among men and a 14% decline in female viewership in the demo.
The show featured a main event match between Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa going into SummerSlam and Jey’s Tribal Combat Match with Roman Reigns. Reigns did not appear on Friday’s episode.
According to Wrestlenomics, the most-watched quarter was the first fifteen minutes of the show for an LA Knight promo followed by the start of his match against Sheamus. The highest quarter in the 18-49 demo was 8:15-8:30 p.m. ET for the conclusion of LA Knight vs. Sheamus, and a Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar video package.
