Soon after his wife Chelsea Green won the title, Cardona sported a replica.

Every championship changed hands at DDT Pro-Wrestling’s Wrestle Peter Pan show on July 23rd. One of the title switches saw Matt Cardona defeat Tetsuya Endo to become the promotion’s Universal Champion.

For Cardona and Steph De Lander’s entrance, Cardona sported a replica WWE Women’s Tag Title belt. His wife, Chelsea Green, won the Women’s Tag Titles with Sonya Deville days prior. Cardona told the Stick to Wrestling podcast that it got the internet talking so he did his job.

Well, you know, I brought it (WWE Women’s Tag Title belt) to DDT in Japan and the internet got talking so I did my job.

Cardona is defending the Universal Title in Japan against Maki Itoh on September 24th.

Chelsea Green’s partner Sonya Deville is sidelined after undergoing surgery for a torn ACL. Green is still in possession of the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
