SANADA dealt with torn distal biceps tendon during NJPW G1 Climax tournament

SANADA reveals he dealt with an injury throughout the G1. 

New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s G1 Climax 33 tournament concluded with Tetsuya Naito besting Kazuchika Okada in the final

The reigning IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA made it to the quarter finals before losing to his former Los Ingobernables de Japon stable-mate, EVIL. He was part of a 10-man tag on the G1 final show and following the event, SANADA took to his Instagram and shared that he dealt with a torn distal biceps tendon during the G1.

With Naito’s victory, he secured the right to challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 18. Naito must hold onto that right and following Naito’s win, he was confronted by Jeff Cobb who beat him in the early stages of the tournament
