WWE Raw notes: Piper Niven declares herself Chelsea Green’s partner, Becky vs. Trish, IC Title match, Judgment Day

With Sonya Deville sidelined after undergoing surgery for a torn ACL, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Chelsea Green was without a partner. She was looking to hold auditions but Piper Niven asserted herself into the picture and told Chelsea they are now Women’s Tag Team Champions. 

The rematch between Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus took place. They were counted out as they were brawling on the outside. Lynch and Stratus made their way into the concourse area of the arena where Zoey Stark helped Trish get the edge over Lynch. Adam Pearce later approached Stark and Stratus and told them the next time Trish and Becky go one-on-one, it’ll be a Steel Cage match. 

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins agreed to defend his title against Shinsuke Nakamura. Nakamura then laid Rollins out for the second week in a row. 

Chad Gable is getting his shot at GUNTHER’s Intercontinental Championship on the 8/21 Raw. 

Headlining the show was Cody Rhodes versus Finn Bálor. Judgment Day’s Damian Priest slid his Money in the Bank briefcase to Bálor but it went under his legs and into to the hands of Rhodes. Rhodes used it to pick up the win but at the end of the night, Judgment Day (Finn Bálor, Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio & Damian Priest) along with J.D. McDonagh, beat down Rhodes and Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion Sami Zayn. 

It is official that on 8/21, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are taking on Drew McIntyre and Matt Riddle. McIntyre and Riddle bested The Viking Raiders (Ivar & Erik) on tonight’s program. 

The Miz teased for the 8/21 Raw that he’ll be facing someone ‘bigger’ than anyone L.A. Knight has ever faced, referencing Knight’s win over Top Dolla on SmackDown. Miz also teased showing up on SmackDown this Friday. 

WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley picked up a win over Indi Hartwell in a non-title bout. After the match, Candice LeRae went after Ripley and the champion was taken down by LeRae and Hartwell.
