The scuffle happened when they were living in a dorm while training.

Both SANADA and BUSHI were trained at the All Japan Pro Wrestling dojo. SANADA looked back on that time of his career and being around his former Los Ingobernables de Japon stable-mate BUSHI.

NJPW’s official website released a snippet of a longform interview that SANADA was the subject of. He was asked about his relationship with BUSHI early on in their careers. SANADA stated that BUSHI had a personality that was easy to get along with, but recounted a scuffle they had at the time.

The current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion said something to BUSHI that was not received well and BUSHI slapped him. SANADA went in for a tackle but was slapped again.

I guess you could say we got along well (SANADA recalled his relationship with BUSHI when they were training in AJPW). (BUSHI) had a personality that was easy to get along with… Once, I got into a fight with BUSHI. When we were talking in the dormitory, I don’t remember exactly, but I must have joked around or said something that annoyed him. Then BUSHI slapped me, and I went in to tackle him, but he slapped me again. At that time, it was a little scary (he smiled).

SANADA wrapped up his run in NJPW’s G1 Climax 33 tournament and revealed that he worked through it with a bicep injury

This weekend, BUSHI is going to be in action at IMPACT x NJPW Multiverse United 2 in a Scramble match
