House of Glory – High Intensity X
August 18th, 2023
NYC Arena – Queens, NY

HOG announced on their socials before the show that due to circumstances beyond their control, Eddie Kingston would not be appearing tonight. He was slated to take on Charles Mason.

01: Encore won the Matt Travis Memorial Battle Royal at 9:33 lastly eliminating Evander James, and will he get a championship opportunity of his choosing at a later date. There was a bit of tension when Encore accidentally eliminated his partner Ken Broadway, but Broadway helped Encore from not being eliminated and teased them going after the tag team titles with a promo after the match.

Participants in the match included;

Badlands August, The Anunnakis, Encore, Michael Fain, Ken Broadway, Blackmon, Elijah Eden, Osito, El Trabajador, Ben Ruten, Daron Richardson, J Bouji, Evander James, Hilary P. Wisdom, Smiley, Roachie Roach, Big Daddy Cruz, Brian Burgundy

02: Steph De Lander vs. Kiki Van Gogh

SDL cut a pretty funny promo before the match saying “Another Friday when I should be on SmackDown, but instead, I’m in New York”. HOG Women’s Champion Ultra Violette came out before the match to join the commentary. Violette ran out and knocked Kiki off the top rope, as the referee was distracted by SDL who followed with a Death Valley Driver to get the pin at 9:43.

03: HOG Cruiserweight Championship Suicidal Six Way Ladder Match: Joey Silver (c) vs. Super Crazy vs. Nolo Kitano (w/ The Anunnakis) vs. Jordan Oliver vs. Raheem Royal vs. Isiah Kassidy

Marq Quen (looking HUGE) escorted Kassidy out, as Private Party got a big homecoming welcome as Kassidy then went into the crowd and got the crowd hyped for this match. Kassidy and Super Crazy had a funny dance-off during the middle of the match. Royal did some WILD spots during this match and had the match won until Nolo ran up another ladder and sprayed mist in Royal’s face to grab the title at 13:38 and become the NEW HOG Cruiserweight Champion.

04: Matt Cardona (w/ Steph De Lander) vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi

This was originally for the HOG Heavyweight Championship but Cardona got on the mic before and said this was a nontitle match since the commissioner wasn’t here to override him. Cardona called himself a Japanese legend as he and SDL were wearing Ribera Steakhouse jackets as he said he had 4 of them. Cardona tried multiple times to escape this match and even said they can count him out, but Tanahashi dragged him back in. Cardona kept trying to cheat to win this match but took out SDL with the title belt instead. Tanahashi followed with a sling blade and the High Fly Flow for the pin at 14:51

05: HOG Crown Jewel Championship: Charles Mason (c) vs. Masha Slamovich

Mason called Eddie Kingston a coward and since he started making money he “stopped coming here”. He told the referee to start counting Kingston out but Masha Slamovich came out as his replacement. Very competitive match with a lot of near falls from both until Mason trapped on the rear naked choke as Slamovich passed out at 14:32, as Mason retains. HOG Commissioner Jason Solomon came out after to tell Mason he did “the right thing” as Carlos Ramirez returned to take out Mason with power bombs.

06: HOG Tag Team Championship Cage Match: The Bookers (c) (Amazing Red & BXL) vs. The Mane Event (Jay Lyon & Midas Black)

They brawled for a good 10+ minutes outside the cage and around the arena before the match officially started, but unfortunately, it wasn’t on any of the screens so the crowd chanted “We can’t see shit”. Ultra Violette tried to interfere at one point but got kicked out. Got really wild at the end with Midas hitting an elbow drop off the top of the cage followed by Chopped Cheese for the pin at 12:34 to become NEW HOG Tag Team Champions. BXL didn’t want to give up his title after, but Red snatched it from him and embraced his students.

Bumped into Marq Quen after the show who said he’s targeting a return by late September/early October.
