Edge (Adam Copeland) reflected on his match with Sheamus from Friday Night SmackDown.

In what could end up being his final WWE match, the 49-year-old Copeland shared his thoughts on the match from Toronto on Friday night:

Full circle pints of Guiness. From Dublin to Toronto and 19 years in between. Back now after an amazing trip home to Toronto. What can I say? I’ll take that experience with me to the grave. Toronto you brought it. Speaking of bringing it, @wwesheamus is a beast. As strange as this sounds it was pure joy in there. Just two buds beating the hell out of each other. I knew he was great. But I didn’t know how great. That dude is so insanely talented, spectacular at what he does, and just a damn hard worker. He is the epitome of work ethic. Can’t teach that. Thanks fella. It was an honor.

The two had a multi-segment match with Edge winning after executing two spears in front of the Canadian audience and including his wife Beth and children, Lyric and Ruby in the front row.

After the show, Edge addressed the audience and said it was likely his last match in front of them (the audience in Toronto). In interviews, he noted that his contract with WWE expires at the end of September and this was his last contracted match for the company. He has said he will assess what is next and has not confirmed if this was his last match.

Copeland first wrestled for the WWF on a live event in May 1996 in Hamilton and later, signed with the company and debuted on television in June 1998.

He came a seven-time World Heavyweight Champion, four-time WWE Heavyweight Champion, twelve-time tag champion, five-time Intercontinental Champion, King of the Ring winner in 2001, Money in the Bank winner in 2005, and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012.

In 2020, he returned to the ring at the Royal Rumble after retiring nine years prior. Since returning, he has been involved in feuds and programs with Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, The Miz, AJ Styles, and Judgment Day.
