John Cena is set to appear on Friday Night SmackDown next month.

FOX Sports is reporting that Cena will appear on the September 1 episode from the GIANT Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and will be the performer’s first WWE appearance since Money in the Bank in July.

The report by Ryan Satin adds that Cena will also be appearing in India for the WWE’s Superstar Spectacle event on September 8.

Cena appeared unannounced at the London event and made a public pitch for WrestleMania to come to London in the future. He was confronted by Grayson Waller on the show.

Cena has a new movie called “Freelance” that will be released on October 6 and co-stars Alison Brie with the studio releasing a trailer on YouTube:

Promotion of the movie will be limited due to the ongoing strike among actors and writers.

The September 1 episode of SmackDown takes place the night before the Payback premium live event.
