Both Tony Khan and MJF speak ahead of All In.
Going into AEW All In at Wembley Stadium, representatives of the company are making the media rounds to promote their biggest event to date.
Both AEW President Tony Khan and the current World Champion MJF were interviewed by Justin Barrasso for Sports Illustrated’s FanNation section. While Khan was speaking about the headlining match of All In between MJF and Adam Cole, he called it the most important bout in company history.
Khan: MJF versus Adam Cole is the most important match in AEW history. It’s become one of the most fascinating friendships in wrestling, and they’re going to clash for the AEW World Championship at the biggest pro wrestling show of all-time.
Elsewhere in the conversation, MJF looked back on the 65-minute match he had with Bryan Danielson at Revolution. He stated that he learned a great deal in that one match.
MJF: I will say this about Bryan — I learned far more inside of that match, bell to bell, than I’d ever learned in the history of my career in a match. I wanted to kill that mother—–, but I also learned what made Bryan Danielson the American Dragon. And that made me levels better. We have zero in common, and I mean zero, but I learned a lot. And that was the first time we’d ever shared a ring together, which too many people gloss over.
Cole and MJF are going to be in action twice at All In. Before their main event bout, they’ll be challenging Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) for the ROH World Tag Team Championships.
