Nigel McGuinness took to the ring during AEW All In to claim a paid attendance at the event of 81,035.
This was billed as a “world record” by the company.
In the absence of audited numbers for suites etc, and certainty over the paid attendance number for WrestleMania 32, whether Sunday’s number is a genuine world record may not be entirely clear.
Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics has stated that paid tickets for WrestleMania 32 were between 74,000 and 86,000, although he has more confidence that the accurate number is closer to the median of those numbers.
This would increase the likelihood that AEW really has created a record for paid attendance.
Prior reporting by Thurston unearthed a number of 80,709 as the turnstile attendance for WrestleMania 32 — information from the Arlington Police Department.
Tickets sold for Wrestlemania 32 was somewhere between 74k and 86k. I'm somewhat confident in narrowing that to between 78k and 83k since we're using WWE's (self-reported) round numbers to calculate and there are more possibilities nearer to the median.
