Starks and Stratus parted ways at the pay-per-view.
The on-screen partnership between Zoey Stark and WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus kicked off at the Night of Champions Premium Live Event in May. Stark helped Trish defeat Becky Lynch and that program continued throughout the summer.
At Payback, Lynch defeated Stratus in a Steel Cage match and afterwards, there was a confrontation between Stratus and Stark that resulted in Stark taking out the multi-time WWE Women’s Champion.
Stark was interviewed for Sports Illustrated’s FanNation section and said Stratus has helped grow her game. When Zoey sees Trish wrestle, things just make sense for her.
She’s helped me grow my game. Trish is so smart. Her knowledge of small details and how to project those, that separates from everyone else. When I see Trish wrestle, it all just makes so much sense.
Trish received ‘thank you’ chants from the crowd after the post-match angle at Payback. She took a bow and walked out of camera’s view.
On the 9/4 Raw, Stark clashed with Shayna Baszler. Zoey was choked out after trying not to fade from Baszler’s Kirifuda Clutch.
