Next year’s Royal Rumble event is heading to Tropicana Field in Florida.
WWE announced that the Royal Rumble will be staged at Tropicana Field on Saturday, January 27 in St. Petersburg with Raw scheduled to take place at the Amalie Arena in Tampa two days later.
WWE is working with the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, Tampa Bay Rays, and Visit St. Pete/Clearwater to host the event.
It is unknown what site fee was secured by WWE, but it was reported earlier this year that Orlando was expected to bid $850,000 to secure the Royal Rumble, which ultimately went to a different city in the state.
Tropicana Field was one of the locations of WWE’s Thunderdome during the pandemic, which housed WWE’s television production from December 2020 until April 2021. WrestleMania 37 that year was held at the nearby Raymond James Stadium.
In the release, it confirmed that the show will include a men’s and women’s Royal Rumble match, which has been the standard since 2018.
