CM Punk made his first TV appearance on Friday since being fired from All Elite Wrestling and hinted that he may be busy in two months.
Punk was working as a commentator during the Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) 125 event in North Dakota, which was streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.
During the event’s introduction, broadcaster John Morgan said, “Look at who I ran into backstage. He’s back, with cause.”
Punk later noted during the broadcast that he has “a lot of time on his hands for the next two months.”
At the AEW All Out press conference on September 3, Tony Khan said of a potential non-compete clause:
I don’t want to discuss the terms of the separation in that sense…And as far as what’s going to happen in the future, I can’t speak to that, but I’m not the attorneys who interpret all that language and stuff.
The “two months” timeline aligns with WWE’s Survivor Series, scheduled for November 25th in Punk’s hometown of Chicago.
In a recent ESPN interview, WWE President Nick Khan stated:
Listen, we only have respect for Phil. We appreciate his run here. We appreciate what he did and tried to do with the UFC. Not many people can actually get in there and do what he did. So, when we have respect for Phil, we wish him nothing but the best.
