Multiple title fights have been added to UFC 295 & UFC 296 later this year.
On Thursday, UFC CEO Dana White confirmed that Jiří Procházka and Alex Pereira will fight for the vacant light heavyweight championship on Saturday, November 11 at Madison Square Garden.
In December at UFC 296, UFC Welterweight Champion Leon Edwards will defend his title against Colby Covington, and another title fight is scheduled with 125-pound champion Alexandre Pantoja making his first defense against Brandon Royval.
Procházka (29-3-1) vacated the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship last year due to a severe shoulder injury. He has not competed since June 2022 when he defeated Glover Teixeira for the championship. Pereira (8-2) moved up to 205 pounds in his last fight, defeating former champion Jan Blachowicz by split decision at UFC 291 in July.
Edwards (21-3, 1 NC) won the 170-pound title from Kamaru Usman with a memorable head-kick knockout at UFC 278 in August 2022. He defeated Usman by majority decision in a rematch this past March at UFC 286 and hasn’t lost a fight in nearly eight years. Covington (17-3) is 2-2 in his last four fights and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Jorge Masvidal back in March 2022.
Pantoja (26-5) won the flyweight title in July with a split decision win against Brandon Moreno and has won his last four, including a submission win against Royval in August 2021. Royval (15-6) has won three in a row since losing to Pantoja.
UFC 295 is set for Madison Square Garden on November 11 and UFC 296 will be held December 16 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
