WWE Raw notes: Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso appearing on SmackDown, NXT Women’s Title, Trick Williams appears

Ahead of Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso challenging Judgment Day (Finn Bálor & Damian Priest) for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships at Fastlane, they’ll be appearing on the 10/6 Friday Night SmackDown.

At NXT No Mercy, Becky Lynch successfully retained her NXT Women’s Championship by besting Tiffany Stratton in an Extreme Rules match. The winner was supposed to head to the 10/2 Raw and defend against Tegan Nox. Lynch suffered a gash in her arm during the Extreme Rules bout and was not cleared to compete. Lynch and Nox’s title match is now taking place on the 10/9 Raw.

Newly crowned NXT North American Champion Trick Williams appeared in a backstage segment. Williams is scheduled to defend his title against Dominik Mysterio on the 10/3 NXT on USA Network. In his backstage segment, the champion was confronted by Judgment Day’s J.D. McDonagh, Dominik Mysterio and WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley. Ripley stated that Mysterio will not be alone for his rematch with Trick.

Both Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez returned to television after being ambushed by Nia Jax on the 9/11 Raw. They were involved in a brawl with Nia and Shayna Baszler. On the 10/9 Raw, Nia is going one-on-one with Raquel.

Also on the bill for the next episode of Raw is a Viking Rules match between Ivar and Kofi Kingston.

Members of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, including George Kittle, were present at the show in San Jose, California.
