John Cena has confirmed that if the current actors’ guild strike is settled, he would have to end his WWE run.

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strike has been ongoing since July 14th 2023.

Cena was speaking at the WWE Fastlane press conference. He was asked whether, once a deal is struck, “Hollywood calls you back?”

Cena answered:

They do, they do and I’ve made it perfectly clear you can’t do both because of the liability insurance and that if I were to try to juggle both, that’s very selfish because that would put a whole lot of people in the movie business out of work if something happened to me.

So yes, I stopped a project in the middle of it. I can’t even talk about the project because of the strike we’re in. But we’re in the middle of it.

So as soon as we get back to work, we go back to work. But I don’t control any of that.

I’m crossing my fingers and hope we can find a resolve that everybody’s happy with. And for right now, I think this is the best way I can help is come back home to my family.
