The main event of Wrestle Kingdom 18 is set following Monday’s NJPW Destruction in Ryogoku event.

SANADA retained the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship over EVIL in the Lumberjack Death Match, which headlined the event.

After twenty-eight minutes, SANADA and Just Five Guys overcame the numbers of the House of Torture as SANADA won after a pair of shining wizards, and then hit Deadfall.

Keiji Muto was ringside on commentary and posed with SANADA and the championship after the match.

The win secures SANADA’s spot in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 18 against G1 Climax winner Tetsuya Naito.

Naito entered the ring for a standoff ahead of their match on January 4 at the Tokyo Dome.

SANADA remarked how it’s come full circle where both were part of the same New Japan tryout with the promotion choosing Naito and turning down SANADA.
