The October 16th episode of Monday Night Raw is being branded as the season premiere of the program. There are two title matches scheduled for the show, one of which is an Intercontinental Championship match. Bronson Reed defeated Ricochet and Chad Gable in a Triple-Threat to secure a shot at GUNTHER’s title.

Judgment Day’s Damian Priest and Finn Bálor going to be challenging Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles on the season premiere.

There was an in-ring segment with Rhodes and Uso on the 10/9 show. Michael Cole hosted it and he asked Rhodes pressing questions. He asked if Rhodes is content with where his story has gone and if he is scared to go after the Undisputed WWE Universal Title after not winning the belt(s) at WrestleMania 39. Before Rhodes could answer, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens came out to set up the main event title match. Zayn used his heel theme. When it came time for the main event, Zayn came out to ‘Worlds Apart’. Cody and Jey defeated Zayn and Owens to retain the Undisputed Tag Titles and both teams shook hands and embraced afterwards.

Becky Lynch’s reign as NXT Women’s Champion continues as she scored a win over Tegan Nox to retain. Prior to that match, Lynch was approached by Xia Li about getting a title shot.

In addition to the title matches, here is what has been announced for the season premiere of Raw:

  • Falls Count Anywhere: Ricochet vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
  • Rhea Ripley (w/ Dominik Mysterio) vs. Shayna Baszler
  • Piper Niven vs. Natalya

There was a vignette to hype up Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser.

Ivar picked up a win over Kofi Kingston in their Viking Rules match.
