Brian ‘Road Dogg’ James says it was his idea for R-Truth & Carmella to do dance break during matches on WWE TV

James expressed that he does not get how viewers could not suspend their disbelief for it.

The focus of Brian ‘Road Dogg’ James’ latest Oh…You Didn’t Know podcast was WWE Super Show-Down from Australia in 2018. As the conversation moved along, James talked about the duo of R-Truth and Carmella and when they would do a dance break in the middle of a match.

He said that was his idea. James then went on to express his feeling that people would not buy into a dance break happening during a match, but would be open to buying into AEW’s Orange Cassidy.

Well it was my idea of course (for R-Truth & Carmella to do a dance break in matches). The dance break. Dance break… There’s secrets I cannot tell, but I love the dance break. I love Ronnie The Truth Killings and I loved Carmella with him because I thought she was the perfect — you know, and they would just stop, ‘Dance break!’ How stupid is that? (He laughed) Then they just go back into the match… And honestly, if you don’t like it — you’re willing to buy Orange Cassidy but you’re not willing to buy that? You know what I mean? You’re willing to suspend disbelief so far with these characters of today, but that was too far? ‘Yeah, they just stopped in the middle of a match, competitive matchup… But this blasphemy of ruining the integrity of the competitive bout.’

Truth underwent surgery in late 2022 for a quad tendon tear and then in early 2023, he underwent a second surgery because of an infection. He has not wrestled since November 1st.

Carmella and Corey Graves are expecting their first child together. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion is due in November
