Jericho says he’s not going to be the one to tell Tony what and what not to do.
NXT on USA Network and AEW Dynamite on TBS went head-to-head on October 10th. Going into the show, AEW President Tony Khan promoted his programming that night and along the way, reacted to NXT airing commercial-free for the first 30 minutes of their show.
After the ratings for both shows came out, Khan tweeted out that it was the first time both John Cena and The Undertaker appeared on a WWE show with under one million viewers and under 400,000 in the demographic.
The Messenger caught up with Chris Jericho and asked him for his thoughts about Khan’s posts that week. Here’s what he had to say:
I learned years ago that bosses are going to be bosses, and billionaires are going to be billionaires. I’ve been working for billionaires for 25 years. At this point, you can’t control Tony Khan. He’s going to do what he wants to do and God bless him.
He created this company. He runs this company. He also grew up in the social media era.
I’m not going to tell him, ‘Take your phone away,’ because he’s my boss. Say what you want. Whatever. I think it’d be worse if I said that stuff because I’m not the boss, you know? Tony Khan owns AEW. He can do what he wants. I’m not going to tell him no.
After the 10/18 AEW Dynamite goes off the air, John Pollock and Wai Ting will be going live on the POST Wrestling YouTube with a review of the show.
