Arena México and Tokyo Dome are on Copeland’s checklist.
Adam Copeland is two weeks into his run with All Elite Wrestling. He was victorious in his first match on the 10/10 Dynamite against Luchasaurus and is currently engaged in a program with Luchasaurus, Nick Wayne and TNT Champion Christian Cage.
Battleground Podcast was the latest outlet to speak to Copeland and he shared with them that while he’s with AEW, he is interested in checking off bucket list ventures such as competing inside the Tokyo Dome and Arena México.
Copeland stated that he went to a wrestling show at Arena México while he was WWE World Champion. He sported a mask to hide his identity.
That’s pretty exciting actually, you know? (Possibility of wrestling elsewhere while with AEW) And again, a byproduct of coming here is oh wait, hold on a second, Tokyo Dome. That’s on the checklist. Arena México, well hold on, you know, because I went there once. I was world champ, but I wore a mask, so I wanted to watch the show and so I snuck in and I watched the show with I think a Mephisto mask, and just had a blast because I love the culture of lucha libre and I love the pageantry and yeah, so those two things I think would be very cool as a lifelong wrestling fan. Those are two experiences that I think would be really cool that I just didn’t know would ever be in the cards so you have to kind of write it off, especially after I had to retire in 2011. It’s like, okay, I just didn’t get those things done. Now they can get done and that’s pretty fun.
Following up on that, the idea of Copeland competing in NJPW’s 2024 G1 Climax tournament was brought up. He stated that it’s a possibility.
Ah, I mean, we’d have to carve out some time I guess but Eddie (Kingston) did it (G1 Climax) this year, right? So, it’s a possibility.
The WWE Hall of Famer was featured on the 10/18 Dynamite. He had a sit-down interview with Renee Paquette and deep dove into his friendship with Christian.
