The UFC will continue its working agreement with the Department of Culture of Tourism in Abu Dhabi with an expansion of their pact.

The UFC first ran an event in the country in 2010 and sold 10% of Zuffa LLC to the Abu-Dhabi-based Flash Entertainment, which was sold to Endeavor following their purchase of the company. Throughout the pandemic, the UFC was able to stage multiple events on Aby Dhabi’s Yas Island.

A partnership was agreed to in 2019 that would guarantee one numbered UFC card per year featuring a championship fight. The new deal will continue that agreement along with additional Fight Night cards throughout the Middle East and North Africa region annually.

The news was released on Thursday just before this Saturday’s UFC 294 card in Abu Dhabi that is headlined by UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev defending against Alexander Volkanovski.
