CMLL Debuts on AEW

Rampage began with the “Mexico’s Best Pound for Pound Crown” Match between CMLL World Historic Welterweight Champion Rocky “Azucar” Romero and the CMLL World Historic Middleweight Champion Místico. Excalibur explained that this match would be two out of three falls as is tradition in CMLL. The first fall went to Místico by tap out at 2:40. Romero then began tearing at Místico’s mask as the show went to its first commercial break.

The second fall came when Romero hit Sliced Bread on Místico at the 7:11 mark.

Rocky Romero then executed an avalanche Sliced Bread on Místico but he was able to kick out. Místico then hit a Spanish Fly on Romero for his own two count. Místico followed that up with a Canadian Destroyer followed by a Tijeras and La Mística submission for the third fall and victory.

Stokely, Jarrett, Jay, and Eddie

Next, they showed the backstage interview that was published on social media earlier in the week confirming Jeff Jarrett vs. Eddie Kingston tomorrow night on Collision where if Jarrett wins, Jay Lethal gets a shot at the ROH World Title.

Winner Gets an International Title Shot

Next was John Silver vs. Kip Sabian vs. Brother Zay with the winner going on to face Orange Cassidy for the International Championship. Silver had Reynolds and Uno with him and Sabian had Penelope Ford, The Butcher, and The Blade but Brother Zay was solo for this match. Zay’s star definitely shined brightest for much of this match with him hitting a number of impressive moves including a big splash onto everyone arguing on the outside.

Brother Zay had the match won with a Swanton Bomb onto Kip Sabian but John Silver broke up the pin with a big Pelé style kick and stole the victory.

Former Friends

A promo package aired with Mike Santana and Ortiz going back and forth before announcing they’ll finally be squaring off this coming week in Philadelphia. It was revealed later that this would be a Rampage match next week and would not be on Dynamite.

BCC Warm-Up

Blackpool Combat Club’s Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta had what Excalibur described as a “warm-up match” for their title match against Ricky Starks and Big Bill tomorrow night on Collision. The BCC defeated The Bounty Hunter Bryan Keith and Exodus Prime in short order with the Giant Swing coupled with a Yuta drop-kick followed by The Fastball Special for the victory.

FKA: JAS

Renee Paquette interviewed the former JAS backstage and they all started arguing until Jake Hager had enough and said he didn’t give up his hat for this. Anna Jay said if they wanted to win the Trios titles this Saturday they had to squash their beef. Menard told Garcia that he hates the dance but he loves him and to consider it squashed.

Hung Bucks Open Challenge

The Young Bucks and Hangman Adam Page said they had a responsibility to defend the ROH Six-Man Titles and issued an open challenge for this coming Wednesday on Dynamite. A few minutes later in Excalibur’s insane rundown of matches, it was revealed that the challengers would be The Hardys & Brother Zay.

Skye Blue vs. Ruby Soho

Skye Blue continued her ruthless, serious streak that began when she was misted in the eyes by Julia Hart. Ruby Soho was accompanied to the ring by Saraya who had the green spray paint with her and quickly got involved in the match. Skye Blue was able to flick out of the No Future but Saraya was able to hit Blue twice with the can of spray paint allowing Soho to pick up the win. After the match, The Outcasts continued the beatdown on Skye Blue only to have Kris Statlander come out to run them off. Statlander then helped Skye Blue up but Blue bailed out of the ring and wanted nothing to do with her.
