Jon Jones injured and off UFC 295, interim title fight set for Nov. 11

Jon Jones is injured and off the UFC 295 card next month with an interim heavyweight title fight set for the show.

Dana White revealed that Jon Jones suffered a torn pectoral muscle during training and will require surgery.

The fight with Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 on November 11 is off and in its place will be a fight for the interim heavyweight championship involving Sergei Pavlovich (18-1) and Tom Aspinall (13-3).

Pavlovich has won six consecutive fights in the UFC, which have all been by stoppage and last fought in April where he defeated Curtis Blaydes. Aspinall is 6-1 inside the UFC with his lone loss coming to Blaydes in July 2022 when Aspinall sustained a knee injury immediately after the fight began. Aspinall returned one year later and beat Marcin Tybura by TKO this past summer.

The fight between Jiří Procházka (29-3-1) and Alex Pereira (8-2) for the vacant light heavyweight title has been promoted to the main event slot of the card at Madison Square Garden.
