Tyson Fury defeats Francis Ngannou by split decision, Ngannou scores knockdown

Francis Ngannou went the distance with the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Despite losing by split decision, the former UFC heavyweight champion equated himself well including the highlight of the fight in the third round when Ngannou scored a knockdown.

Fury did enough to secure the fight on two of the three judges’ scorecards but was very complimentary towards Ngannou after the fight.

The scores were 96-93 and 95-94 for Fury with one score of 95-94 for Ngannou.

It was Ngannou’s first fight since January 2022 where he beat Ciryl Gane in his final fight with the UFC. Ngannou’s contract expired with the UFC and he left without being defeated for the heavyweight title.
