MLW has responded to a request by Arez as the performer publicly asked for his release on Wednesday.

Arez posted a letter on X stating he signed a contract presented to him by AAA in the spring of 2021 noting, “Although I did not understand the contract, as it was never to me in Spanish and I am not an English speaker, and even though I did not have a work visa at the time of signing that would even allow me to accept a job offer in the USA, I told AAA that I was very interested and I signed said contract.”

Arez went on to state he has not been offered any match in over eighteen months and requested his release to Court Bauer over six months ago, “which he refused.”

Arez added that MLW has refused to cancel his contract in writing and lacks the resources to have a legal fight with MLW over the validity of the contract.

Arez ended the statement by asking one more time for Court Bauer to release him in writing from MLW.

Shortly after the statement was posted, the MLW account on X responded:

MLW notified AAA in May that both Arez and Aramis were released from the MLW contracts as AAA is a co-signee on both contracts.

AAA confirmed they would relay this to talent at that time. Evidently they did not.

We wish Aramis and Arez the best with the future.

Arez began wrestling for MLW in July 2021 as part of the 41-man Battle Riot event and worked for wrestled regularly for the group over the next year. He last wrestled for MLW in June 2022.

In 2023, he primarily wrestled for Game Changer Wrestling, AAA, and various independents in the U.S. and Mexico. He currently holds the AAA World Tag Titles with Komander.
