Vince McMahon declines comment on sexual assault allegations, federal investigation

While promoting an initiative by WWE to observe Veterans Day, Vince McMahon was asked about the sexual misconduct allegations that led to a short-lived resignation as chairman.

McMahon, the 78-year-old Executive Chairman of TKO, was speaking with the Fox News Digital outlet about the company’s support of its veterans by raising the largest known flag in the U.S. on top of its Stamford headquarters. The flag is measured at 76 feet wide and 40 feet tall, according to the story.

We live in the greatest country in the world and freedom of speech is important whether or not you agree with what the flag stands for or not. Our soldiers have died and those who have served in wars did that because of our country.

Later in the story, Fox News Digital noted that it asked McMahon about the sexual assault allegations he was accused of, as well as settling a lawsuit (presumably the Rita Chatterton case, which was settled in January 2023), and being the subject of a federal investigation.

When asked for comment by Fox News Digital, McMahon declined.

In July 2022 amid the scandal, McMahon announced his retirement as chairman of the company while maintaining his voting power in the company, which allowed him to return to the position several months later and explore “strategic alternatives” for the company.

In April, it was announced that the UFC and WWE were merging to form the TKO Group Holdings company, which was finalized in September and McMahon held approximately 16.4% of TKO stock. That amount will drop to 11.6% after TKO revealed on Wednesday that McMahon will see 8.4 million shares of his Class A stock.
