Adam Cole appears at AEW Full Gear, MJF & Samoa Joe retain ROH World Tag Titles

MJF left on a stretcher following an attack from The Gunns.

The final match on the AEW Full Gear Zero Hour pre-show was Samoa Joe and AEW World Champion MJF defending the ROH World Tag Team Titles against The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn). Joe was a last resort option for MJF to pick as a partner and their agreement was that if Joe tagged with him, he would have an AEW World Title match waiting for him down the line.

Near the conclusion of the match, one-half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions, Adam Cole, who was on crutches, made his return. His appearance distracted Colten Gunn which allowed for Joe to lock in the Coquina Clutch to secure the win and help MJF retain the titles.

Cole has been sidelined after undergoing two surgeries for the broken ankle he suffered at Dynamite Grand Slam.

Post-match, Joe and MJF shook hands and as MJF was walking towards Cole, The Gunns ambushed him in the ring. Austin and Colten targeted MJF’s ankle and stomped on a chair that was wrapped around it. MJF was stretchered out and put in an ambulance. He yelled to Adam Cole to not let ‘them’ take his AEW World Title.

MJF is scheduled to headline Full Gear in a World Title match against Jay White.
