Kota Ibushi appears at NOAH’s 12/2 show, wants to face Naomichi Marufuji at ‘The New Year 2024’

Ibushi and Marufuji to meet in a singles match in 2024. 

Pro Wrestling NOAH held a show at Yokohama Budokan on December 2nd. There was a 10-man tag that saw G.L.G. (Jake Lee, L.J. Cleary, Anthony Greene, YO-HEY & Tadasuke) take on Naomichi Marufuji, Takashi Sugiura, Go Shiozaki, Shuji Kondo and Junta Miyawaki. 

G.L.G. secured the win but after the bout, while Marufuji was in the ring, he was approached by Kota Ibushi in what would be his first appearance for NOAH since 2012. 

Ibushi brought up ‘The New Year 2024’ event on 1/2 at Ariake Arena. Marufuji told Ibushi that he’ll be waiting for him in the ring at Ariake. In a post-match interview, Marufuji confirmed that they’ll be going one-on-one. 

With the addition of this bout, here’s the updated lineup for NOAH The New Year 2024:

  • Nagisa Nozaki & Great Sakuya vs. Haruki Umesaki & Miyuki Takase
  • GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships — Three-Way Match: Dragón Bane & Alpha Wolf (c) vs. G.L.G. (YO-HEY & Tadasuke) vs. Ninja Mack & Alejandro
  • Zack Sabre Jr. & Yoshinari Ogawa vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi & HAYATA 
  • Kota Ibushi vs. Naomichi Marufuji
  • GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship: Daga (c) vs. Eita
  • GHC Heavyweight Championship: Kenoh (c) vs. Manabu Soya
