Ren Narita is the newest member of the House of Torture after turning on partner Shota Umino.

On Wednesday’s card, Narita & Umino had their final round-robin match of the World Tag League against EVIL & Yujiro when the angle was executed.

During the match, Narita held out his arm from the apron but withdrew it and would not tag in. Narita continued by watching the match while seated on the floor before entering the ring and applying a choke to his partner. Narita sent Umino up for Everything is Evil as the HOT members scored the win.

Both teams had previously been eliminated with each ending the World Tag League with 3-4 records.

After the match, Narita tore off his shirt and put on a House of Torture one as he stood over Umino and left with his new group.

Narita returned from an excursion in October 2022 and went to the finals of the NJPW World Television Title Tournament before losing to Zack Sabre Jr. at Wrestle Kingdom 17. He competed in his first G1 Climax this past summer and finished with six points in the A Block and wrestled Umino to a time-limit draw in the tournament.

Narita was previously part of Strong Style with Minoru Suzuki and El Desperado.
