Ric comments on Charlotte’s injury.

On the 12/8 Friday Night SmackDown, Charlotte Flair suffered a knee injury during her singles match against Asuka. She fell from the top rope and WWE later confirmed that Flair will be out of action for up to nine months. PWInsider added that Charlotte tore her ACL, MCL and meniscus.

Ric Flair spoke about his daughter’s injury as he was being interviewed by The Wrestling Classic and here’s what he had to say:

I told her (Charlotte Flair), she’ll come back from this injury. It stressed her out because she hasn’t been hurt in a long time, but she’s so muscled up and I mean, she’ll come through the surgery and they’ll put some stem cells in her and she’ll come back and it’ll be the greatest storyline of all-time. She and Bayley and IYO (SKY) and all those guys and Asuka, I mean, and there are more people for her to still wrestle. She’s got so much going on for her…

When asked to name his favorite match that Charlotte has had, he said she’s had many and went on to state that if Mercedes Moné comes back to WWE, he’d like to see her and Charlotte add to their trilogy of matches.

Oh God, she’s (Charlotte Flair) had so many good ones (matches). You know, if Sasha (Mercedes Moné) comes back, they gotta have their trilogy.

According to Fightful Select, Charlotte re-signed with WWE and it was one of the first contract extensions since the TKO merger. The site noted that Flair’s new deal is ‘one of the highest-paid deals to a woman in WWE history’.
