Ibushi and Marufuji went 30 minutes.
The main event of Pro Wrestling NOAH ‘The New Year 2024’ was a singles match between Naomichi Marufuji and Kota Ibushi. The two talents wrestled for over 30 minutes and in the end, it was Ibushi emerging victorious.
There was a point during the bout when Ibushi went for a moonsault to the outside and he grabbed at his ankle after he landed. According to Sports Hochi, Ibushi suffered injuries to both of his ankles early in the match.
It is noted in the article that he had to be taken to a hospital in Tokyo. Ibushi was able to get to the backstage area on his own, but relayed that he was in severe pain and could not go through with doing backstage comments. That is when an ambulance was called.
NOAH’s Director, Narihiro Takeda, stated that no further information will be known until Ibushi receives a diagnosis at the hospital.
