At the age of 19, Bate won the 2017 WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament, defeating the man he tagged with on Friday, Pete Dunne.

He then started making appearances on NXT and sporadic showings on Raw as part of the cruiserweight division.

In 2019, he began an extended stint as part of the NXT UK roster. After NXT UK was discontinued, he returned to the main NXT brand.
