Kota Ibushi suffered ruptured right tibiofibular ligament & additional damage to lateral ligaments in right ankle, set for examination of left leg

An official diagnosis on Kota Ibushi. 

Taking to his X account, Kota Ibushi revealed that he’s decided to undergo right ankle surgery coming out of his match against Naomichi Marufuji in the main event of NOAH The New Year 2024.

After the 30-minute bout, it was reported by Sports Hochi that Ibushi was taken to the hospital after suffering injuries to both his right and left ankles. Pro Wrestling NOAH provided the official diagnosis on Ibushi’s injury and noted that he was diagnosed with a tibiofibular ligament rupture and suffered additional damage to the lateral ligaments in the same ankle.

Ibushi is scheduled to undergo an examination for his left leg. 

Since returning to in-ring action in March of 2023, Ibushi wrestled in a total of eight matches. The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling.
