WWE Raw notes: CM Punk & McIntyre segment, World Title match on 1/15, R-Truth/Judgment Day

Kicking off Monday Night Raw was an in-ring segment involving Drew McIntyre and CM Punk. Both talents took digs at one another. McIntyre mocked the story of Punk calling himself a ‘locker room leader’. He then called Punk a demon and Punk said when he’s pushed, he comes Satan himself. He added that Drew, Seth Rollins nor Cody Rhodes can stop him from winning the Royal Rumble and main eventing WrestleMania.

Scheduled for the 1/15 Raw is Seth Rollins defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Jinder Mahal.

Michael Cole confirmed that Giovanni Vinci is going to be out for a ‘number of weeks’ after taking a kick to the head from Kofi Kingston at the Day 1 edition of Raw. Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser went one-on-one with Kingston and their match resulted in a double count out. Kaiser then beat Kingston down and ended his attack by kicking Kingston’s head against the ring steps.

There was a video package that aired featuring R-Truth discussing his connection to The Judgment Day (Finn Bálor, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio & J.D. McDonagh).

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Kayden Carter and Katana Chance retained their titles over Chelsea Green and Piper Niven.

In addition to the World Title match, the following is taking place on the 1/15 Raw:

  • Judgment Day (Finn Bálor & Damian Priest) vs. R-Truth & The Miz
  • D.I.Y. (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) vs. Dominik Mysterio & J.D. McDonagh
  • WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER returns

In the main event of the 1/8 program, Cody Rhodes bested Shinsuke Nakamura in a No-DQ match.

WWE Raw backstage interviewer and correspondent Jackie Redmond is welcoming CM Punk onto her show on NHL’s YouTube channel.
