A new champion is crowned.
In the advertised main event of the 1/9 NXT on USA Network, Dragon Lee put his North American Championship on the line against Lexis King. Lee scored the win and held onto the title.
As he was celebrating his win, NXT men’s Breakout tournament winner Oba Femi made his way to the ring. By winning the Breakout tournament, Femi secured a contract for a title shot whenever he wants it.
After back and forth exchanges, Oba got the better of Lee with his powerbomb to put him away and become the North American Champion.
Since the title was introduced in 2018, there have been 18 North American Champions with Oba Femi’s name being the latest to join the list.
