WWE has issued an update on Carmelo Hayes and Austin Theory after their match was stopped abruptly on Friday Night SmackDown.
Theory attempted a springboard into a split-legged one-man Spanish Fly and came down at a dangerous angle on his neck with Hayes appearing to crash heads with Theory when landing.
Referee Ryan Tran waved his arms and called off the match as both men were tended to.
WWE has posted an update stating both men sustained facial contusions but were otherwise, considered to be “okay”:
UPDATE: Following their match tonight on #SmackDown, @_Theory1 and @Carmelo_WWE were evaluated for injuries. They both suffered face contusions, and will both be okay.
