Ford speaks on the new faction.
On the New Year’s Revolution episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) were taken out by a newly-formed faction called The Final Testament (Karrion Kross, Akam, Rezar, Scarlett & Paul Ellering).
The group came up during Montez Ford and Bianca Belair’s appearance on The Ringer Wrestling Show. Ford explained how The Final Testament have shifted The Street Profits’ focus. He feels the lovable version of themselves led to them becoming stagnant although the fans were enjoying them.
This stuff with pretty much A.O.P. and (Karrion) Kross pretty much reforming (has) kind of like shift our focus. We’ve made this transition from being the loveable Street Profits that always love having a good time and for a very long time, having that mentality kind of just had us stagnant. Granted the fans were happy which we were happy about but, we felt like we didn’t have anything for them to cheer for. It’s very hard to be behind a team or a franchise when constantly they let you down but you have those loyal fans like Cleveland Browns and a whole other lot of sports franchises. The (Chicago) Bears. But, just for a while, that mentality just felt like it just wasn’t necessarily getting us to that next level so by us being tested like now with these individuals, these monsters, these guys that have something to prove, we kind of need each other in the same part. So I think it’s very interesting.
On the most recent SmackDown, Ford, Dawkins and Lashley were looking to brawl with The Final Testament but received a video message from the group instead.
Come February 2nd, Ford and Bianca Belair’s new reality series is going to premiere on Hulu.
