An agreement has been reached but ‘Black Taurus’ may be no more.

In December 2023, Black Taurus challenged El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship on three occasions. Two of their bouts took place under the AEW and ROH banners respectively.

According to a report from thecubsfan, Taurus is going to be working with AEW/ROH going forward as the two sides have reached an agreement. The sited noted that AAA owns the Taurus character. When he returned to AAA in 2018, he resumed using the Taurus character for AAA shows but kept the ‘Black Taurus’ branding for outside work. Here’s an excerpt from the report:

AEW recently settled a lengthy lawsuit over the Luchasaurus mask. I expect they’d rather not deal with that for another character, especially one they’ve only recently and barely put on TV.

It was relayed to thecubsfan that Taurus is prepared for the outcome to be AEW modifying the ‘Black Taurus’ character and name to something that is somewhat recognizably different from ‘Taurus’ to avoid legal troubles.

On the AAA front, at TNA’s Hard To Kill pay-per-view, company President Scott D’Amore and AAA’s Chief Executive Officer Dorian Roldán Peña took the stage to announce an agreement between their companies.

Taurus has worked a multitude of dates for IMPACT/TNA dating back to 2019.
