AEW Collision experienced an uptick in viewership despite going against a major NFL playoff game on Saturday night.
The January 20 episode of Collision averaged 440,000 viewers and 162,000 (0.12) in the 18-49 demographic, per Wrestlenomics and Sports Media Watch.
Collision increased 10% among overall viewers and was up by 19% among the 18-49 audience from the prior week. However, it was below all episodes of Collision throughout December in both categories.
Collision aired against the big playoff game between the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers, which averaged 37.5 million viewers including 12,981,000 in the 18-49 demographic to dominate the night on Fox. Considering the size of the audience, it is no small feat that Collision increased its numbers.
The UFC 298 prelims from Toronto aired head-to-head against Collision and averaged 1,026,000 viewers and 542,000 in the demo.
Collision’s 18-49 audience saw a 21% uptick among males and a 17% gain in women from the prior week.
Adults 18-34 grew from 39,000 to 57,000 and Adults 35-49 were up by 8% at 105,000 this week.
The show was headlined by Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli defeating Eddie Kingston & Ortiz. Wrestlenomics reports that the peak quarter was the main event segment with 471,000 viewers and 171,000 in the key demo.
