NXT saw very little movement in its U.S. viewership figures but hit a new record for Canada this week.

The January 23 episode of NXT averaged 642,000 viewers and 255,000 (0.19) in the 18-49 demographic, per Wrestlenomics.

The audience was down 6% in overall viewership and was even with last week’s 18-49 audience.

Wrestlenomics noted that the peak quarter was from 8:15 – 8:30 p.m. ET with the ending of Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin vs. Axiom & Nathan Frazer, and multiple backstage segments including an unadvertised appearance by William Regal, which did 700,000 viewers and 294,000 in the demo. The fourteen-minute overrun segment involving Lyra Valkyria and Roxanne Perez dropped 7% in viewers and 16% in the demo to the show’s lowest marks of 549,000 viewers and 204,000 in the demo.

The show did a very big number in Canada with 142,000 viewers and 49,700 in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360, which is a new record for the overall viewership of NXT in the country. The previous record was set on January 2 of this year when the New Year’s Evil special averaged 132,000 viewers.

This week’s Canadian audience was up 24% and the demo increased by 21% from last week. NXT ranked sixth in Canada for the night among sports programs behind NHL programming.

The show included a segment involving Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria and Roxanne Perez to promote their title match at Vengeance Day on February 4, and the continuation of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic with Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin advancing to the final.
