CM Punk confirms triceps injury, will miss WWE WrestleMania 40

Punk is out of action for the foreseeable future.

The first segment of Monday Night Raw saw CM Punk appearing in front of the crowd with a sling on his right arm. Punk competed in the 2024 men’s Royal Rumble and was in the final two across from the eventual winner Cody Rhodes

Punk confirmed that he suffered a torn right triceps. He was hoping to grit his way to WrestleMania 40 but that is not going to happen. He does not want anyone feeling sorry for him.

He began to get emotional while speaking about a friend of his, Chad Gilbert, who is going through chemotherapy and despite what he’s going through, he always has a smile on his face and Punk said that’s a real fight. He went on to mention his UFC run and how he bounced back from that.

Punk stated that maybe WrestleMania is a goal that’ll always haunt him but his current injury is a bump in the road. He was interrupted by Drew McIntyre. McIntyre was eliminated from the men’s Royal Rumble by Punk. McIntyre said he prayed that Punk would get hurt and he could not let Punk be the one to lead the charge.

Their segment closed with Punk saying he’ll rehab, come back and main event WrestleMania but before that happens, he’ll be coming for Drew McIntyre. They got into a scuffle and McIntyre ended up stepping on Punk’s triceps. Sami Zayn then made the save.
