The champion is focused on the present.

On February 4th, members of WWE’s NXT brand are going to be in Clarksville, Tennessee for their next Premium Live Event, Vengeance Day.

One of the matches on the marquee is Lyra Valkyria defending her NXT Women’s Championship against Roxanne Perez. Along the way, Valkyria guest appeared on Busted Open Radio. She was asked if she’s looking forward to making the jump to the main roster.

Lyra expressed that she’s in no rush and she’s enjoying her time in NXT. She went on to state that she was at the 2024 Royal Rumble and felt that is something she has to be a part of one day.

I’m having a great time in NXT at the moment. I’m not prepared to rush anything. I’m really enjoying the journey in NXT. But, when I was at the Royal Rumble, of course I was looking at that going, ‘Oh my God, that is something that I absolutely need to do.’ I got quite emotional watching and Roxanne (Perez), Zoey (Stark), all the NXT girls that stepped up and got to be an incredible part of that; Tiffany (Stratton) as well. Of course I have aspirations but, I always think it’s important to enjoy the journey on the way and not just live in the future the whole time. So I’m having a fantastic time in NXT right now. But yes, I do have aspirations.

Days out from Vengeance Day, here’s the match card coming out of the 1/30 episode of NXT

  • NXT Championship: Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Trick Williams
  • NXT Women’s Championship: Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Roxanne Perez
